fantastic Friday: snow day!

It’s not often that metro Atlanta gets snow, let alone a snow day. We had a winter storm comes through late last night and dust a little white powder on the ground, but that wasn’t what caused the snow day, it was the ice.  We attempted to make it to work but got as far as a few hundred yards from our driveway before turning back, or I should say sliding back for home.  It was a little after 6am and we have a hill going down and a hill going up. The hill going up wasn’t going to happen and something about ice skating with our car wasn’t of interest.  Shortly after we got home, we received notice that campus was closed until noon and around 10 am we received noticed that it would be closed for the day.  Thus, a snow day. Metro Atlanta has sure had its share of headline between water, gas, rain and now snow and ice.

So, we had a 3-day weekend and I’m quite excited about it.  We both are still trying to get over bronchitis and a sinus infection and while it lingers on and are feeling better we could both use a relaxing and restful weekend.

It was back to work and school this week.  Kids had a decent week, without much homework.  Work seemed to pick up by mid-week and it was nice to see everyone again.

This weekend we’re celebrating Neo’s 15th birthday on Sunday. As of Sunday we’ll all have the option to operate a motor vehicle legally!  It will be nice for both to have a driver’s license so we can be chauffeured around :)

Hope you have a great weekend!
