Kicking off the Holiday Season

December 6th 2009 in Family

Christmas is my favorite holiday, not only because of the meaning but also because of family coming together.  Growing up I have many fond memories of my Mom, aunts, cousins and Grandma getting together to do a holiday craft.  Perhaps this is where I get my early event planning skills from or love of gathering people together.

We crafted reindeer pins and magnets, puffy painted Christmas sweatshirts, made taffeta angels and would always gather to bake Christmas cookies too.  I decided on my drive back from Sarasota in early November that I would revive this tradition.  I just love traditions, especially family ones.

This past weekend we hand painted Christmas tree ornaments.  Some looked better than others, but the laughs, memories and possibly the few extra pounds we gained from cookies and fudge are what we’ll remember.

Here are some pictures from the event!
